King’s Boys We halted and beheld a line of Yanks some twenty feet arrayed against us. Volleys were fired at close range and some of us fell in the dust. The volley fire continued till the Yanks had gotten enough. They advanced. We held our ground and the tussle got a little rough.
King’s Boys How brave it was for them to advance into such a deadly storm. To give their lives for the colors that day proved to be the norm. We came back to Their Monument and said our words of thanks. Then soil from Their Counties was bestowed with love from the ranks.
