Folks, if you have never witnessed a War of 1812 reenactment that has an Indian contingent, you should attend this reenactment near Marion, IN, about 75 miles north of Indianapolis. Just to observe and visit the authentic Indian Village plus see the Indian costumes worn by the reenactors is well worth the trip. This reenactment is a replay of a battle fought on December 17 and 18, 1812 between the Americans and the Miami Indians, who were allies of the British. This is the largest War of 1812 reenactment in the U.S. One of the onsite perks is the number of 1812 sutlers, which are a rarity. Some additional weekend events will be a tug of war and a Saturday night dance. I will see you there.
