150th SHILOH…. SATURDAY PM…. BATTLE MARCH

We had to be back in camp and ready to cooter up by 12:30pm. I had met the deadline, had a nap and was waiting for first call.

Well, sure enough, we got first call right at 12:30. We all got cootered up and meandered out on the main road that was a stones throw from our camp. Our officers directed us to a field across from the road and we begin the placement of the 3 companies of our Battalion. Our company was the 2rd company in line with the colors (flag) placed between the first and 2nd companies. The 3rd company was a Louisiana Company with which we had shared many a battlefield. They were a veteran company and a welcome addition to the Battalion.

Once we got assembled, we posed for a few pictures and then began a short march to the main staging area to get placed in the Division. Our line of troops was so long, I couldn’t tell you exactly where we were positioned, but suffice it to say, this was the main battle scenario of the weekend and we have upwards of 3500 soldiers in line. It is quite a thrill to be a part of a reenactor army this big.
